Big Fat Gypsy Weddings star Paddy Doherty is in hospital for a third time following his battle with coronavirus.

The 62 year old took to social media to share the update with his fans, filming himself laying in his hospital bed and sucking on an oxygen supply as he tried to control his breathing.

Celebrity Big Brother winner Paddy left fans concerned with the video, which he uploaded to Facebook, as it saw him repeatedly coughing and gasping for breath.

Wearing a white and blue T-shirt, Paddy started the video with an almighty cough, saying: "Oh s**t," before telling fans: "Here I am, back again."

"Anyhow, I'm hoping to God I'll be home later on. It's three o'clock in the morning, there's nothing wrong with me, it's just my lungs."

Proving his spirits have remained high, he went on: "I tell you, I'm worse than a cat," before erupting into another coughing fit.

Ending the short video, he saluted towards the camera and told fans: "I'll catch you later."

Monday's dash comes as the third trip to hospital in as many months for the reality TV star, who first battled coronavirus in January.

He warned his fans not to "underestimate" the virus after being rushed to hospital at the top of the year, once again filming himself to tell fans the illness is "no joke".

Admitting he thought he was going to die, he continued: "I couldn't raise my hand, my head or even speak. I had no strength. The doctors were putting all these drips in me and I thought 'this is it'.

"I'm alive. It's not a joke, far from a wise crack. Keep your distance, don't shake hands."

Paddy returned to social media in February to reveal he had been admitted to hospital for a second time after struggling to breathe.

He said in another video at the time: "I'll be out in the morning. Just be careful everyone. I'm worse than a cat. A cat's got seven lives, I've got 100 lives."
