White Lines star Daniel Mays has been keeping fans entertained with the hit Netflix series during the nationwide lockdown following the coronavirus pandemic. The 42-year-old has now revealed there could be plans to bring the show back as “there’s definitely a lot more to be resolved”.
With plenty of twists and turns, White Lines was Netflix’s latest phenomenon earlier this year, and was the platform’s number-one rated UK show back in May.
The 10-part drama, which is set in Ibiza, follows the mystery of DJ Axel Collins whose body was found on the island, 20 years after his disappearance.
However, as the mystery of Axel’s death is seemingly solved by the end of the production, there were plenty of unanswered questions that could work in a second series.
Daniel said he is “keeping his fingers crossed” that the Netflix series will return in the near future.

Speaking exclusively to Express.co.uk about a possible show return, Daniel divulged: “We don’t know yet. No decision has been made so I mean look, I’d be surprised if we didn’t.
“Because I’ve been acting for 20 years and in terms of a reaction to a show I’ve never known anything like it.”
He went on to say: “There’s definitely loose ends in the story especially for my character as well. It kind of leaves it open so we see where he goes next.”
Discussing the show, Daniel admitted it was his most “enjoyable” role yet.
“Without question, it’s been the most enjoyable part I’ve played,” he explained. “I love doing what I do for a living but it’s about the characters you portray and I think with Marcus it was such a gift of a role.”
The actor explained the White Lines cast filmed for four days in Ibiza, while the remainder of the production was set in Mallorca and Madrid.
Daniel said: “It was a blast [filming] and the location was just incredible.
“[I played] an hilarious character which was brought to life. But it’s been a great success and we’re keeping our fingers crossed for a second series.”

Elsewhere, the former Line of Duty actor also teased he may strut his moves on the dancefloor after he revealed he was asked to take part in Strictly Come Dancing’s Christmas Special.
Daniel said: “I got asked to do the Christmas version of Strictly and I was like ‘Woah’, but I was like, if I do [Strictly] I’ll have to do the whole series.”
Despite turning down the Christmas special, Daniel explained he is “too busy” to consider taking part in the BBC series.

The White Lines actor also revealed that Strictly is a firm favourite in the Mays household.
Daniel said: “Strictly is a firm favourite in our household. We’re definitely in the Strictly camp as opposed to X Factor.
“My daughter loves it as well and we do our own little routine to the theme music when it comes on.”
