Dawn O’Porter shares heartbreaking post about struggles after death of friend Caroline Flack

Dawn O’Porter has candidly opened up on life without her close friend Caroline Flack, following her tragic death two months ago.

The author took to social media to share an old photo of herself with Caroline, revealing she has struggled to come to terms with her death.

The former Love Island host was tragically found dead at her London flat in February having taken her own life at the age of 40.

Dawn took to Instagram on Tuesday night to candidly open up on grief, revealing how much she misses having Caroline around.

She wrote: “This was a big night for me. Caroline showed up, as she always did. I keep waiting for it to feel easier. It doesn’t.

“I guess this is just a feeling that a lot of us have to live with now. Grief shouldn’t feel lonely when so many billions of people have felt it, but still it does.”

She added: “Maybe that’s because no one can replace what you lost, and everyone is someone different to everybody else.'

“Caroline meant a lot to me. She meant a lot to a lot of people in a lot of different ways. Because she was special. That laugh. That humour. That loyalty. I miss it all.”

She then speculated on how the presenter would have coped during the current coronavirus lockdown, writing: “To think she didn’t even know about any of what’s happened to the world. She’d still have worn her stick on nails in isolation, I bet. I miss you my love.”

It comes after friends of the star shared heartbreaking tributes to Caroline as they marked two months since her death.

Her close friend Lou Teasdale, who had been staying with Caroline at the time of her death, shared a picture of herself and Caroline in happier times and wrote that she thinks of the star “every day”.

Caroline’s boyfriend Lewis Burton, 29, commented underneath the post with a single love heart emoji, while Olly Murs also commented with a broken heart and crying face emoji.

TV producer Mollie Grosberg, who is caring for Caroline's French bulldog Ruby since her passing, also remembered her close pal in a loving post.

Alongside a picture of the two together, she wrote: “The best and silliest girl. Miss her. I can’t believe it’s been two months. Think about this girl every morning when I wake up before I even open my eyes.”
