Harry Redknapp ‘among stars in isolation’ as BBC crew member tests positive for Covid

Harry Redknapp,Nick Grimshaw and a number of other celebrities have reportedly been forced into isolation after coming in to contact with someone with coronavirus, it has been claimed.

Football legend Harry, 74, BBC radio star Nick, 36, are said to have joined a star-studded lineup, also including Carol Vorderman, Angela Scanlan and Andi Oliver, to film for BBC gameshow The Wheel on Friday 28 May.

And after a member of the production crew reportedly tested positive for Covid-19, a number of the guests have been forced into isolation.

Mirror Online reports that I'm A Celebrity star Harry has cancelled his planned engagements this week, including a lunch where he was set to give a talk.

Harry is said to have provided a a negative test after filming the BBC show, but has remained at home due to the latest government guidelines.

Meanwhile, BBC Radio 1 host Nick shared photos of him recording his radio show from his home on Wednesday 2 June on his Instagram page.

As Nick shared photos of him appearing to enjoy working from home, with his microphone propped up with a pile of books, he told fans: "live from me lounge this week! every time I talk Ms Pig thinks I’m talking to her and waddles over", referring to his pup.

Meanwhile, Irish TV presenter Angela, 37, is said to have not come into direct contact with the crew member in question and has continued to work, and is following the correct protocol.

Carol Vorderman has not stated if she needed to isolate after posting a photo from the set of the show.

A show source told the publication that only a "small number" of people came into contact with the crew member who tested positive for the virus. It's understood the person in question works backstage away from the TV set and was not mixing with the production crew, which has helped to minimise the amount of people who need to isolate.

A spokesperson for The Wheel said: "We can confirm an individual has tested positive for covid. The production has and will continue to follow strict government guidelines to ensure the safety of all on the show."

The Wheel, which is filmed at Bovingdon Airfield in Hertfordshire, is a gameshow which sees celebrities help contestants answer questions to win cash prizes.
