Justin Timberlake ‘Heartbroken’ Over Death Of Rayshard Brooks, Others
Justin Timberlake, mourning the death of Rayshard Brooks at the hands police, says he is heartbroken over the incident.
Timberlake, 39, expressed outrage in a message posted on Instagram along with a photo of Rayshard in the hospital holding his newborn baby.
“As a dad, this photo hurts. #RayshardBrooks was a father of three girls…1, 2, and 8 years old. He should not be dead,” the singer wrote.
He added, “Neither should #RiahMilton, #DominiqueFells, and #RobertFuller. This week, these four innocent people became victims of racism, violence, and intolerance. And we’re still waiting for Justice for #BreonnaTaylor. I’m heartbroken for their families and for this country.”
Brooks died on Friday after suffering two gunshot wounds to his back as police shot him.
The system, which has repeatedly shown that black people in America are not safe, needs to change, according to Timberlake. He vowed to follow up with more resources and ways to help, adding the hashtag #BlackLivesMatter.
