Kate Middleton pulled out all the stops to keep a promise to a little girl called Mila Sneddon when the pair adorably met face to face on Thursday.

Last year, the Duchess took part in a phone call with Mila, five, and her mother Lynda Sneddon, whose photo was included in her book, Hold Still.

During their sweet chat, Mila told Kate about her favourite colour and the mum-of-three took note – vowing to wear a pink dress for a future face to face meeting.

The Duchess of Cambridge fulfilled her promise and opted for a neon pink shirt-style dress as she finally met Mila, who underwent chemotherapy after being diagnosed with leukaemia, on the last day of her and Prince William's Scotland tour.

Little Mila sported a pastel pink dress, complete with a tiara and pink shoes.

The Duke and Duchess of Cambridge's official Twitter account posted an adorable picture of the pair sat on a sofa together while interacting.

The tweet explained: "It was so lovely to host Mila in her beautiful pink dress for tea at the Palace of Holyroodhouse today #HoldStill2020.

"The Duchess spoke with Mila last Autumn after her photograph was chosen to feature in the #HoldStill2020 project."

In their previous conversation, Kate told Mila and her mum: "I wanted to call you to thank you both very, very much for sending in your fantastic photograph."

Kate then sweetly promised: "I have to make sure I go and try and find myself a pink dress so that hopefully, when one day hopefully, Mila we’ll get to meet, and then I’ll remember to wear my pink dress for you. Would that be nice?”

Kate, 39, and William, 38, are currently on a royal tour of Scotland and have been getting stuck into various activities at numerous engagements.

The pair paid tribute to the late Prince Philip on Wednesday as they drove to a drive-in-cinema in his Land Rover.

The couple hosted NHS staff for an early screening of Disney's new Cruella movie at the Palace of Holyroodhouse in Edinburgh to celebrate the incredible work they've done throughout the coronavirus pandemic on Wednesday night.

Prince William, who enjoyed a beer as he watched football previously, was seen driving his late grandfather's 1996 2A model Land Rover for the occasion, which was loaned to the couple by Her Majesty Queen Elizabeth II.

The dad-of-three wore a full suit for the fun evening out, teamed with a white shirt and smart shoes, while his other half donned a stunning blue tartan coat.

The stylish number featured gold buttons going parallel down the ankle-length coat and had a matching belt, which highlighted her svelte waist.
