Malin Andersson praises ‘amazing’ NHS staff as she’s hospitalised for second time this year

Malin Andersson has praised "amazing" NHS staff after being hospitalised due to her asthma for the second time this year.

The 27 year old took to social media to alarm fans as she shared an image of her hand wearing a hospital band as she laid in a bed.

Former Love Island star Malin then revealed the nature of her illness, simply posting: "Asthma sucks" to her 600,000 followers.

She continued to document her trip to hospital, sharing a photo of her legs underneath a hospital blanket, writing: "The nhs are amazing [sic]"

It is the second time this year that Malin has ended up in hospital with asthma this year after sparking fears in January when posting that she "couldn't breathe".

Malin first shared a photo of her foot in a hospital waiting room as she wrote: "A&E when asthma flares up n u can't breathe properly [sic]," alongside a sad face emoji.

She later returned to update her followers by saying: "Thank god I went hospital otherwise I was gonna have an asthma attack what a madness anyway I can breathe properly again now still a bit meh. Honestly [sic]"

Malin recently opened up on how she has endured racism her whole life in her mental health column for OK! online.

She said: "I grew up in a very white village and we were the only Asian family in the whole town.

"I think there was a corner shop and us. We were instantly treated very differently, we endured a lot of racism as a family.

"I've got two older brothers and a sister and we'd all go to school – I was only a little girl at this point so I only remember bits of it – but my brothers would get spit on and be called a P**i. They'd come home crying.

"I mentioned before that I was called horrible names, but so was my sister. She got called Hitler all the time, because she had a lot more facial hair than me.

"I think being brown and in a very white privileged area, it just didn't work. I remember being about five years old and I was playing with some friends and a little boy went, 'Oh you're a P**i!'"

"I didn't try and act white, but I didn't hang around with Asian people because my friends were white.

"I had some Asian friends, but even the Asian people at my school were racist that I wasn't hanging out with them, so it was just really weird."
