Penny, 50, is perhaps best known for her modelling career as well as being a member of the Loose Women panel.

Now, the mum-of-two is often seen out in uniform, protecting the City of London from criminals.

In a drastic career change, Penny appeared on Channel 4’s Famous and Fighting Crime alongside Katie Piper and Jamie Laing back in 2019.

However, just one year after appearing on the programme, Penny joined the City of London Police force as a volunteer special constable, now, she has completed her training and is a Special Police Constable with the power to arrest people.

Speaking during an Instagram Live last year, Penny admitted: “I never felt more comfortable in a position and I felt like this was where I was supposed to be.”

Now, in a new interview, she has spoken of her family’s initial reaction to joining the force.

She told Hello! Magazine: “Rod and the kids were a bit nervous of me becoming a police officer because you hear so much trouble on the news, but I told them there’s lots of women, daughters, sisters and mums who are police officers and are serving the community.”

Now after joining the force, the model likened her new colleagues to that of a family.

Penny joined the force aged 50, after initially taking part in the Channel 4 show, aged 49.

Speaking on Instagram last year, she admitted that her parents were initially “not so keen” on her decision after she came face to face with a drug dealer during her time on the Channel 4 programme.

While out with Cambridge Police on patrol, Penny was confronted by a drug dealer who threatened to stab her.

During an appearance on Loose Women earlier this year, Penny shared the wonderful news with her co-stars, Nadia Sawalha, Jane Moore and Kaye Adams.

She exclaimed: “I finally got my warrant card and a City of London police badge!”

Speaking of her new career, Mail Online reports that Sir Rod Stewart said: “No one’s ever been able to stop Penny if she’s decided she wants to do something. And I’m always behind her all the way.

“But am I scared for her? Yes, a little. Did you see that drug addict who threatened to stab her with a needle on the TV show?

“As long as she’s accompanied at all times by another constable, she’ll be okay.”

Penny was also recently active on Instagram as she shared a photo of her out for dinner.

She shared a picture of her with Ronnie Wood and his wife Sally Wood.

They were snapped out for dinner now restrictions are lifting.

She penned: “Another amazing night with this lovely couple @annabelsmayfair #friendsforlife @sallywood1 @ronniewood @sirrodstewart.”
