The Rolling Stones have released a brand-new music video for the previously unreleased single, “Scarlet.”
“Scarlet” is from the band’s forthcoming box set dedicated to their 11th studio album, Goat’s Head Soup. released in 1979.
The music video was filmed in London’s Claridge Hotel and features Irish actor Paul Mescal, who played the character of Connell Waldron in the Hulu series, “Normal People,” earning a Primetime Emmy Award nomination.
The original song was recorded in October 1974 and features Led Zeppelin guitarist Jimmy Page, Mick Jagger, and Keith Richards, among others.
“My recollection is we walked in at the end of a Zeppelin session,” Richards shared. “They were just leaving, and we were booked in next, and I believe that Jimmy decided to stay. We weren’t actually cutting it as a track; it was basically for a demo, a demonstration, you know, just to get the feel of it, but it came out well. With a lineup like that, you know, we better use it.”
The new box set is slated for release on September 4, 2020.
