Prize winner Heather Bone – who left This Morning viewers in tears yesterday after disclosing that she only has three months left to live – appeared on the show again on Wednesday to reveal the ‘overwhelming’ support she has received. 

The 40-year-old was surprised when she won the Dosh On Your Doorstep competition on Tuesday, but she also shocked presenter Alison Hammond when she admitted she is battling terminal breast cancer. 

And following her first appearance on the ITV breakfast show, she confirmed she now has thousands of Instagram followers, a GoFundMe page and celebrities offering to help. 

Wow: Heather Bone 40 – who left This Morning viewers in tears yesterday after disclosing she only has three months to live – appeared on the show again on Wednesday to reveal the ‘overwhelming’ support she has received

Speaking to presenters Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield, she said: ‘I woke up today with my Instagram following at 32k followers.’

‘Oh my gosh that’s incredible, and I hear that you’ve been up late reading all of the messages because it’s been quite overwhelming?’ Holly, 40, responded. 

Heather interjected: ‘Yes, it’s been so overwhelming, and I probably slept about two hours last night reading all of the messages.’ 

She plans to hold a farewell party to say goodbye to her loved ones, and presenter Phillip, 59, revealed a Great British Bake Off star has offered to make a cake for the get-together.

He added: ‘GBBO 2020 finalist Laura Adlington offered to make you a cake and lots of people were asking if you had a GoFundMe page so your sister-in-law has set one of those up now.’

Heather also revealed her sons, 15 and 16, are still struggling to come to terms with her cancer diagnosis, with one finding it harder than the other.   

The day before, Holly and Philip revealed they were gifting Heather £1,000 and Alison 46, also donated £200 to Heather’s GoFundMe page to show her support.

Emotional viewers at home were left touched by her heartbreaking story and bravery as one said they were ‘in bits’ whilst many others hailed her as ‘inspirational’.

Excitement: Heather said: ‘Yes, it’s been so overwhelming, and I probably slept about two hours last night reading all of the messages’

It’s not clear if Alison was aware of the sad news before she visited the house but Heather said to the star: ‘I got diagnosed with breast cancer in 2019, I then got the all clear just before my 40th birthday.

‘I thought things were getting back to normal, I then got told I had brain mets, so now I am getting myself organised.

‘I have been told I’ve got three months to live, so I am going to have a “wake me up before I go, go” party, a party before my passing.’

A concerned Alison then asked: ‘How do you continue to be upbeat for your sons and your husband?’

With Heather then replying: ‘Because there is no point moping, it is what it is, if I mope it won’t help my family, my husband or my children.

‘So I am in auto-mode at the moment.’

The former Big Brother star then went ahead with the quiz, with Heather bagging herself £1,000.

And after she admitted that she loves Craig David, the singer then appeared via video message wishing her a happy birthday and serenading her with a song.

Heather later took to Instagram, where she shared a photo of herself and Alison and wrote: ‘Wow don’t know what to say, thank you @alisonhammond55 still haven’t got over @craigdavid’.  

Viewers tuning in were left emotional over Heather’s plight and took to Twitter to share how they felt. 

‘So sad. Hope Heather has an amazing party. And has lots of loving memories before her sad passing. But especially knows how loved she is with her remaining time’ tweeted one.

While another sobbed: ‘Just watched the lovely lady heather winning the dosh on your door step.. what an inspirational woman she is.. I’m in bits after that please send her all our love and strength.’ 

Happy Birthday: Heather celebrated her 40th birthday just two days ago and shared this photo on Instagram 

Touching: Heather later took to Instagram to share a snap of herself and Alison and wrote: ‘Wow don’t know what to say, thank you’ 

‘Well that’s me in tears what a beautiful soul. Sending lots of love to Heather’ shared a third emotional person.

‘Wow. That was emotional. Well done Heather. Hope she has the best party. #ThisMorning at its best there’ penned a fourth.

A fifth person declared: ‘That was so upsetting, while another shared her appearance ‘had me in tears’.

Echoing the sentiments of countless others, another viewer shared: ‘Oh heather such a inspirational lady so brave sending all the love and hugs.’
