Tim McGraw Performs ‘I Called Mama,’ Honors Frontline Workers On ‘Tonight Show’

Tim McGraw performed his new song, “I Called Mama,” and paid tribute to workers who are in the frontlines of the coronavirus pandemic on “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” on Tuesday.

“I just want to say thank-you from myself and my family to all the frontline workers, all the public-facing workers out there doing so much for keep the heartbeat of this country going,” McGraw said. “We appreciate it, we love you. Thank you again so much.”

The country star played the emotional track in isolation from his home, with help from his band members.

“I Called Mama,” written by Lance Miller, Marv Green and Jimmy Yeary, was released earlier this month.

McGraw dedicated the song to his mother, Betty Trimble. The track ranks at No. 25 on the Billboard Country Airplay chart.
