Why Adele and Her Ex-Husband Are Keeping Their $171 Million Divorce Super Private

Nearly a year after they announced their split, Adele and her ex Simon Konecki are in the final stages of hammering out their divorce and what’s going to happen to their massive fortune. Unlike many other celebrity divorces, this one is going to be kept private because a Los Angeles court granted Adele’s request to keep everything on the down low.

According to The Sun, Adele and Simon, will share custody of their 7-year-old son, Angelo, and will continue to “work out their issues” and are “committed to keeping the details as private as possible for the sake of their son.”

Basically that means fans likely won’t find out what exactly happened to the $171 million involved in the divorce or details about “financial, sales, or other confidential business information.”

Since their split, Adele and Simon have been committed to keeping everything cordial in the press, so the way they’re handling the official details of the divorce is definitely on brand for them.

Last year, sources claimed their divorce came after years and years of drifting apart due to increasingly demanding schedules as Adele “became a bigger and bigger star.” Simon was reportedly content with Adele’s fame, but it became more difficult for them to see each other and connect the way they used to.

Of course, neither of them confirmed or denied the reports, but People previously revealed that Adele feels “perky as hell” about this next chapter, so that’s a good sign! Plus, we might even get new music from her in due time.
