Asda is closing its 24 hour stores during this difficult time in an attempt to slow down the spread of the virus. The store is going to re-stock shelves overnight instead. There are about 600 stores in the UK, meaning almost everyone will have a store near them. So what are the new opening times?
What are Asda’s opening hours?
Stores’ opening times vary between 6am and 8am.
Most stores are closing at 8pm during the week and on Saturdays.

Is Asda opening early to serve the elderly and NHS staff?
Since last Friday, Asda has been asking customers to avoid coming to the stores before 9 am.
These early hours are dedicated to the elderly and vulnerable, and staff will be helping them find what they need.
NHS staff will be able to get in before the crowds in big stores between 8 and 9 am on Mondays, Wednesdays and Fridays.
Is Asda rationing items?
Just like Tesco, Asda is limiting customers to three of each item.
A spokesman for Asda commented: “Like most retailers, we have seen a heightened demand for products both in stores and online.
“We have plenty of products to go around, but we have a responsibility to do the right thing for our communities to help our customers look after their loved ones in a time of need.
“This is why, as of March 18, customers will ONLY be able to buy up to three of any product across all food items, toiletries and cleaning products, so that all of our customers in stores and online have access to the products they and their families need.”
