    TRANSFER LATEST

Ben White is playing down talk of joining Arsenal while Jadon Sancho has reportedly talked UP his move to Manchester United.

Brighton's England centre-back White claims it's impossible to know what is true, amid claims the Gunners would need to fork out £50million after having two bids rejected.

But it's claimed fellow England star Sancho has told his Borussia Dortmund team-mates he will definitely arrive at Old Trafford this summer.

Winger Sancho is thought to have agreed a five-year, £350,000-a-week contract with United chiefs.

But France striker Anthony Martial and Holland midfielder Donny van de Beek could be heading for the Old Trafford exit door.

Elsewhere, Ajax are keen on recruiting Holland and ex-PSG wideman Steven Bergwijn but Tottenham are said to be reluctant to sell.

And Rennes' France midfielder Eduardo Camavinga, 18, is being linked to United, Real Madrid and PSG.

Finally, Lille's Portugal ace Renato Sanches is emerging as a prime Arsenal target.

HURST: BEAT GERMANY AND WIN EUROS

England legend Sir Geoff Hurst told Gareth Southgate’s young lions: “Beat Germany and you’ll go on and win it!”

The hero, whose hat-trick conquered our old foe in 1966, lined up with The Sun’s mascot Harry Mane — and also had advice for England’s star striker.

He said: “There’s nothing quite like an England versus Germany game at Wembley and the hairs still stand up on the back of my neck every time it happens.

“It’s a massive, massive game — one of those do-or-die occasions which will produce moments we’ll never forget.

“German teams never give up and we have a hell of a fight on our hands. But this time it’s a fight we can win — and once we clear this obstacle it’ll take a hell of a team to stop us.”

A win tomorrow will send England to Rome for a quarter-final with Sweden or Ukraine. Another victory would tee up a semi-final back at Wembley against either Denmark or Czech Republic.

    PAY JUDE

Jude Bellingham will be celebrating on Tuesday regardless of the result at Wembley.

On the day England look to overcome Germany in the last-16 at Wembley, Bellingham turns 18.

And on this special birthday he will also have his contract at Borussia Dortmund extended by a further two years until 2025.

It is remarkable that Bellingham, who played 36 times for Dortmund last season, is already preparing for what would be his seventh senior cap tomorrow.

Over in Germany, there has been much discussion over Gareth Southgate’s refusal to give Bundesliga golden boy Jadon Sancho a single minute until the dying stages of their final  group match.

In contrast, Bellingham has already made two appearances as a substitute and is likely to play some part against the Germans tomorrow.

    SOME-VING SPECIAL

Rennes wonderkid Eduardo Camavinga is reportedly on Manchester United’s summer wishlist.

That is according to the Daily Mail, who claim United will battle Premier League rivals Arsenal for Camavinga.

The Red Devils are closing in on top target Jadon Sancho and are already thinking ahead.

However, the talented French midfielder has also attracted interest from Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain.

But Old Trafford boss Ole Gunnar Solskjaer will not offload frontline players unless he gets a decent price.

That’s the claim from the Mail On Sunday as United prepare for a major summer shake-up.

    KEANE CHEEKY DIG AT GUNNERS

Roy Keane heaped praise on Bukayo Saka but also aimed criticism at Arsenal while doing so.

The ITV pundit was discussing Saka, 19, alongside Ian Wright, who applauded Saka’s “glorious pace”.

And former Manchester United star Keane was equally as complimentary towards the youngster.

But he could ignore old rivalries, bashing Arsenal in his assessment of Saka.

In ITV’s pre-match coverage of Belgium vs Portgual, Keane said: “He’s been playing well in a poor Arsenal team.”

But Keane is accurate in his view, as the Gunners underperformed last season, finishing the campaign without a trophy.

Mikel Arteta’s side finished eighth in the Premier League and perhaps the most disappointing moment came in the Europa League semi-final exit to Villareal.

And despite their problems Saka still shone, scoring seven and assisting ten goals in all competitions.

    RAMSEY’S RENEWED JUVE HOPE

Ex-Arsenal midfielder Aaron Ramsey reportedly hopes Max Allegri’s return as Juventus boss will boost his chances of staying with the Italian giants.

Allegri’s successors Maurizio Sarri and Andrea Pirlo failed to play the Wales star in his favoured No8 slot.

Now it’s claimed that, far from angling for a release this summer, Ramsey hopes to gain a regular Juventus spot next season.

ARSENAL HAPPY TO SHOW AUBAMEYANG IS A DIVER

Gunners’ striker Pierre-Emerick Aubameyang is lapping up pre-season freedom in Mykonos – in contrast to the drama of last summer.

The Gabon superstar eventually signed a new three-year contract in September 2020 – but struggled to match that big-money deal during a disappointing season.

Arsenal posted a picture of Aubameyang doing an impressive head-over-heals into a swimming pool, labelling it: “Checking in from Mykanos.”

    LLORENTE: ANYTHING CAN HAPPEN

Manchester United target Marcos Llorente has opened up over his future and admitted ‘anything can happen’.

The Red Devils are known to be huge admirers of the Atletico Madrid star, having first targeted the Spain midfielder in January 2020.

The 26-year-old scored 12 goals and provided 11 assists as Diego Simeone’s side won the LaLiga title last season.

His fine form hasn’t gone unnoticed, and United were reportedly set to turn their interest into a formal offer in March.

United were previously linked with launching a £68million bid ahead of Euro 2020.

Llorente, who has three years left on his deal at the Wanda Metropolitano, has hinted that he is prepared to stay in Spain.

But in an interview with AS, the Spanish international added that ‘anything’ can happen in football’.

He said: “I have many years left (on my contract). My idea is to stay, I’m fine, I’m happy at Atletico Madrid.

“We have had a great season winning La Liga. Anything can happen in football, but I don’t think about that kind of thing. I am happy and now I am with the national team.

MY VIRUS BLUES LASTED A MONTH

Kai Havertz admits coronavirus hit him so hard he didn’t want to think about football for a month – even though he was still turning out for Chelsea.

Kai Havertz is now back to his best after coronavirus

Havertz was struck down by Covid-19 last November and though he was back playing again within three weeks, the effects of the illness were so bad it almost wrecked his first year in England.

It was only in the final stages of the season when the 22-year-old finally felt in peak condition and able to perform to the kind of levels where he showed just why the Blues splashed out £71million to sign him last summer.

That culminated in scoring the Champions League winner for Chelsea, and he has taken that form into the Euros with Germany – where he will be one of the biggest threats to England’s chance of glory.

Havertz said:  “The illness has hit me hard.

ARSENAL TARGET WHITE IS MOST IMPROVED LION

Phil Foden and Bukayo Saka have both named Ben White as the England player that has impressed them the most on Euro 2020 duty.

Brighton defender White is closing in on a £50million deal to Arsenal following a standout season.

Mikel Arteta wants to revamp his squad after the Gunners missed out on European football for the first time in 25 years.

A string of other clubs had been interested in the England centre-back, 23, including Paris Saint-Germain, Tottenham and Liverpool.

White was rewarded for his impressive form with a place in the England squad after Trent Alexander-Arnold pulled out through injury.

And potential new club mate Saka has already hailed the former Leeds United loanee after watching him up close in training.

When asked by ITV’s Gabriel Clarke who has surprised him, the 19-year-old said: “Earlier I said I was impressed the most by Ben White.

“I haven’t seen him a lot this season but coming here and training with him, I’ve been impressed with him.”

JADON ‘TOLD DORTMUND PALS HE’S OFF TO UTD’

Borussia Dortmund ace Jadon Sancho has told his England team-mates that he’s ‘heading to Old Trafford’, according to reports.

SunSport revealed earlier this month that Sancho has agreed a five-year, £350,000-a-week deal to join Manchester United.

According to Tom McDermott, Sancho has confirmed to his Three Lions mates that he’s definitely off to United.

He adds that the deal is ‘practically done’ and that issues over add-ons have been ‘ironed out’

REAL CAN'T SIGN BOTH MBAPPE AND HAALAND

Real Madrid have reportedly told new boss Carlo Ancelotti only Kylian Mbappe or Erling Haaland will be joining them this summer.

The 62-year-old Italian left Everton to return to the Bernabeu this summer after they failed to win either LaLiga or the Champions League.

But the Galacticos are still struggling financially due to the impact of the Covid-19 pandemic and are looking to slash their wage bill.

Austrian star David Alaba, 29, has arrived already on a free transfer from Bayern Munich.

But Marca are now claiming that club president Florentino Perez has already informed Ancelotti that there will be no money available for new arrivals.

That is unless either the Paris-Saint-Germain or Borussia Dortmund strikers become available.

Los Blancos know they can raise cash in player sales in preparation to sign Mbappe or Haaland.

Luka Jovic, Dani Ceballos and Brahim Diaz are believed to be up for grabs to make way for the rapid forward.

    LOSING TO GERMANY NOT ACCEPTABLE

Glenn Hoddle has told Gareth Southgate he would have failed as England manager if his team loses to Germany in the last 16 at Wembley on Tuesday.

Former Three Lions boss Hoddle told Betfair: “I think it would be a failure if we don’t beat Germany.

“The way this German side have qualified, the way they’ve just sneaked through, they’re changing the guard with a new manager coming and it’s a good time to play them.

“We’re playing at Wembley. We can’t ask for much more. We’re slightly favourites going into this game – we haven’t conceded a goal and they conceded two against Hungary.

“Yes, they came back and they’ve got that German spirit. We’ve got to be shading it as favourites at this moment in time.”

Hoddle added: “I don’t think it’s as good as the German teams that we’ve seen of yesteryear, although there’s been spells where they’ve turned it on and they came back well against Hungary.

“They’ve definitely got a little weakness in them – they haven’t quite got that arrogance, that flow, that belief yet, but they did come back like typical Germans.

“But I’m adamant that there’s more to come from England. We’re going to grow in the tournament and looking at the draw, this is like a semi-final.”

    TOP TIER DEAL

Kieran Tierney has signed a new FIVE-YEAR contract with Arsenal worth £110,000 a week.

The star man left-back said: “Delighted to announce I’ve signed a new long-term deal with the club.

“I’d just like to thank you all for your support and messages always.

“Can’t wait to get started next year”

FOFANA’S A REAL OPTION TO REPLACE VARANE

Leicester centre-back Wesley Fofana has emerged as a target for Real Madrid to replace Raphael Varane should Manchester United sign the Frenchman.

The 20-year-old starred in his debut season in England after joining the Foxes in a £36.5million deal from Saint-Etienne last year.

Fofana featured 38 times under Brendan Rodgers as he helped Leicester finish fifth in the Premier League while also proving instrumental in their FA Cup-winning run.

And according to Fichajes, he could be on his way out of the King Power Stadium with Carlo Ancelotti said to be eyeing a swoop for the youngster.

However they state the potential move depends on whether Los Blancos sell Varane, with the World Cup winner heavily linked with a switch to Old Trafford.

It has been claimed that the four-time Champions League winner, 28, is keen on linking up with the Red Devils.

Varane has just one year left on his contract in Spain and it remains to be seen whether he will follow Sergio Ramos out the door this summer.

    JUR FUNERAL

Liverpool head coach Jurgen Klopp has warned England that it would be crazy to write his national team off.

Klopp told BILD: “To write off Germany now, it would be crazy.

“We played well against France, Portugal we dominated like hardly any other opponent in recent years.

“We struggled against Hungary, yes. But nothing more happened. Sometimes as a team you need such a game.

‘”And now we’re going to make a real go of it on Tuesday”
