Chris Jericho donates $2K to wrestler who gruesomely broke both legs
An amateur wrestler suffered horrific injuries after jumping off a rope at the corner of a ring, a disturbing viral video shows, snapping both of his legs backwards. Doctors are trying to determine whether he will need amputation after the grisly incident.
One of wrestling’s stars has chipped in to help with his medical expenses. Chris Jericho, currently starring in AEW after a long career in WWE, donated $2,000 to a GoFundMe campaign started for the injured wrestler, Justin. The GoFundMe’s organizer, Justin’s sister Ashley, writes that Justin doesn’t have medical insurance. As of this writing, the GoFundMe has raised more than $15,000 of its $200,000 goal.
“That was so terrible!!!!!” Jericho told TMZ when asked why he donated.
Justin was posing on the rope before hopping back down to the ring floor, and both of his knees gave out. According to Ashley, Justin has already had three surgeries with more procedures scheduled. He has rods and pins in his left leg, which Ashley told the “Eric Zane Show” is the biggest concern.
“It’s obviously cringeworthy for anybody, but to see it happen to someone you love so much and knowing that amputation is a huge possibility, it’s gut-wrenching,” Ashley said on the show. She said the family lives in Delaware.
Other AEW stars who have donated to Justin include Nick Massie, known as Nick Jackson in one half of the Young Bucks tag team, and Joey Janela.
