"Coffee Camouflage" Inspires The North Face and DOE's Collaborative Capsule

The North Face‘s collaborative drops range from street-leaning staples to avant-garde explorations of style but at the core of each partnership is a drive to retain the outdoor brand’s hardwearing legacy. Its new joint effort with Shanghai boutique DOE is one of The North Face’s more playful endeavors, demonstrating the company’s ability to draw from disparate influences without sacrificing utility.

Here, the duo channel DOE’s coffee brand, “DOE 饾,” for a selection of seasonal layers splashed with “coffee camouflage”: an abstract brown swirl that turns milky coffee into a work of art. This kaleidoscopic print is translated into all-over prints that grace a lightweight Wind Jacket, shirt, shorts and sling bag, broken up by black panels that highlight the white TNF logo. Breathable and weather-resistant, the collection is intended to empower city-dwellers with the usefulness of casual tech, though it naturally translates just as well to nature.

DOE’s Tongern Road flagship in Shanghai will first receive the goods on April 15 before other DOE outposts and peers receive the goods on April 17.
