Debenhams is said to be preparing administrators in a bid to protect the business from creditors, Sky News reports.

This would affect many people as the company has around 22,000 employees.

The retailer also has stores across the country which could be forced to close.

It has around 140 stores in the UK which are placed on high streets, in shopping malls and in retail parks.
