Inside Gordon Ramsay’s luxury London mansion as he isolates at his second home
Gordon Ramsay is spending lockdown in his £4.4 million house in Cornwall. The famed TV chef and his family have moved down to their home in Daymer Bay, near Polzeath, amid the coronavirus pandemic.
However, Gordon’s main home is a luxurious mansion in London where he lives with his wife and kids; Megan, 22, Tilly, 18, twins Jack and Holly, 20 and one year old Oscar. The house reportedly cost a whopping £7 million and it is decorated in a traditional yet stylish manner, complete with an unsurprisingly large kitchen and a luscious garden.
Let’s take a look inside…
From this snap at Christmas time we can see that the family’s living room has a very neutral colour palette complete with off white walls and taupe-coloured blinds. Hanging on the wall is an embellished mirror above the marble fireplace, which is a the perfect place to cosy up after a long day shouting in a restaurant kitchen.
Speaking of kitchens, Gordon’s is just as incredible as you would expect from a multi-Michelin star chef. The room has an abundance of natural light as well as a very vibrant colour scheme complete with mustard-yellow high-back chairs and accents of bright purple painted into the bookshelves and beneath the marble kitchen island.
The room is open-plan and there is a large dining table for the family to eat together as well as a breakfast bar.
Tana obviously takes after her hubby in the kitchen, which is lucky as there seems to be space for a few people at a time to have a go on the hobs. Copper pans hang above the grey cabinets, giving the modern space a rustic feel.
From this picture of Gordon with his second eldest child Tilly, who has followed his footsteps and recently released a cookbook, we can see that there is a lot of storage space in the kitchen for all of his professional utensils.
Adjacent to the kitchen/dining room is another very cosy living space which is equipped with plush sofas and wooden flooring. After dining on Gordon’s scrummy meals its close enough to crawl to from the kitchen table before collapsing into a food coma.
Gordon’s daughter Holly looks stunning in one of the house’s bedrooms. With cream carpets and a silver-painted antique dressing table and bed, the space looks to be classy yet glamorous. The perfect place to snap your outfit before a night out!
The garden, which also boasts a small patio area, comes complete with a luscious lawn with very high bushes surrounding it, affording the famous family the privacy they need. It is also large enough for the kids to run and play on, and we imagine Gordon could host the most delicious BBQs here.
This room has incredibly high ceilings and marble floors, as well as mahogany steps leading outdoors. There is a flatscreen TV set into the bright white walls, and the without much distraction by way of hanging artwork the interesting interior architecture is able to shine through.
In this bedroom the Ramsays have gone for a monochrome colour palette, with a cream-coloured carpet and black and white photographs adorning the walls. The bed is flanked by sculptural silver lamps and their is a floor to ceiling mirror hanging on the wall.
The hallway has a stain glass window set into the front door which is painted navy blue. When visitors first set foot in Gordon’s house they are greeted by a black and white photograph of boxing legend Muhammed Ali, which seems appropriate considering the TV chefs reputation for being a heavyweight in the kitchen.
