‘Testing out the pesto eggs from TikTok! Wow these are delicious!’ Jules posted on Instagram.

‘I added avo to the sourdough, chilli flakes and a squeeze of honey. Trust me it’s delicious.’

To make Jules’s pesto eggs, all you need to do is spoon two tablespoons of pesto into a pan, crack two eggs over the pesto and a sprinkling of chilli flakes, before letting them bake on a low heat.

‘In the meantime, I spread some avocado onto sourdough bread and added the eggs and the pesto,’ Jules said.

‘This is a gamechanger, and it’s about to change your life when you add the eggs and the pesto.’

The pesto egg trend has gathered steam in recent weeks, where thousands have shared their own variations paired with ricotta, honey and butter.

The reason why it works is because oil in the pesto keeps the eggs from sticking to the pan, and you can serve them however you like – scrambled, fried or whipped into an omelette.

Those who have tried it have been nearly unanimously in favour, with many saying pesto eggs is their ‘new favourite breakfast’.
