Missing travel? Recreate the first-class flight you’ve never been able to afford

Are you missing the high life? Do you dream of turning left and spending a few precious hours in a fully reclining seat?

Coronavirus may have put paid to any travel plans and upgrade fantasies but that doesn’t mean that you can’t treat yourself to first-class life in your own home.

Jeroen Gortworst has been leading the way in luxury laundry travel by recreating the airplane experience from his utility room in Rotterdam.

Quarantine day 14 got me like… 😩😂 #fy #fyp #foryou #foryoupage

All you need to do is pour yourself a large glass of fizz before selecting a video of a plane in flight and popping your laptop into the washing machine.

Then enlist the help of a helpful housemate/family member/partner to zoom in on you sitting by said washing machine door et voila – you’ve got your basic indoor plane.

Add a tray, a bottle of booze, some great snacks and maybe some Enya softly playing the background, and you could almost imagine that you’re on your way to some exotic paradise.

Needless to say, Jeroen has inspired the TikTok community to jump on the #travelfromhome hype:

How I’m tryna be right now…

Me dreaming of my futur trip 🌴🐟✈️#pourtoipage #fyp #foryoupage #dreaming #tripchallenge #flightsimulator

Day 15 of quarantine got me like #levelup #fyp #foryou #vacation #dogsoftiktok #animalsoftiktok #quarantine

But it’s not just flights they’re busy recreating.

Some have been reliving the build-up in the airport and the long walk to the departure gate

#travelfromhome اشتقت للسفر كتير😢 فرجوني كيف بتسافروا من البيت 😂 #yara_aziz #foryou #يارا_عزيز #tiktok #fyp #دبي

While others have swapped airports for adventurous camping trips

Took a little camping trip this weekend. S’mores included. #travelfromhome #tiktoktravel #newtotiktok #camping
