Naga Munchetty speaks out after being accused of neglecting her cat by stranger

Naga Munchetty has set the record straight with concerned fans after her cat was found by a stranger who told a vet that the cat appeared malnourished

The BBC Breakfast host, 47, took to Twitter to recount the moment she received a call from the veterinarian to let her know that someone had found her cat.

In view of her 267,000 followers, Naga shared a picture of the long-haired feline eating from her food bowl.

She typed: “Tonight's mini adventure: Missy gets let out for half an hour (she refuses to use the cat flap and this is a regular evening occurence).

“I take a shower and get organised.

“Next thing a phone call telling me that the cat has been handed in by a member of the public to the vet.”

She goes on to explain that despite the vets reassurances that the cat is healthy, the stranger was “not convinced” and believed the cat to be malnourished.

She continued: “I collect wayward cat.

“Vet (who I've known for years) says member of public believes Missy is hungry as she's so thin.

“Vet explained that said cat is very old but very well loved.

“Member of public not convinced.

Upshot: Missy is no longer allowed out to roam for her safety.”

In a separate tweet, Naga simply exclaimed: “Cats!”

The TV presenter was forced to speak out again recently after sparking concern over a candid photo of her beloved cat.

Naga often shares photos of her beloved pets on social media but was swiftly inundated with messages after she mistakenly sparked worry from the public.

The Radio 5 Live presenter posted a sweet snap of her feline friend spread out on the floor, captioning the photo: "Sleep peacefully."

The on-screen host added the hashtag: "#grateful."

Naga was inundated with comments, as fans reacted to the picture, believing the cat to be dead.
