Coronation Street fans shocked as star of rival soap appears in Weatherfield | The Sun

EAGLE-EYED Coronation Street fans spot Holby City and Hollyoaks star Ben Hull as businessman Owen on ITV soap.

Serial killer Stephen Reid  (Todd Boyce) met with businessman Owen at the Underworld factory to sign a deal, but viewers were left seriously distracted as they recognise his familiar face.

Owen was played by the actor Ben Hull who starred as Gary Parr in Brookside back in the early 2000s.

He was previously on Coronation Street as another businessman Mark Lacey.

He also had a role in Hollyoaks and a couple of its spinoffs, where he portrayed the character of Lewis Richardson in the late 1990s.

More recently, he played obstetrician Derwood Thompson in Holby City.

Also in the episode, Elaine let slip the news of the engagement to her son Tim, he was furious – and tried to ban his mother from marrying Stephen.

As Stephen surprised Elaine with wedding plans in Las Vegas, she was overjoyed – but Tim wasn’t at all.

Sitting down Tim tried to warn Stephen off from marrying Elaine.

“I’m not going to stand by and watch my mum get hurt,” Tim said to Stephen.

The serial killer hit back: “Listen you are so controlling, this is the sort of thing your dad would do. Do you really begrudge her a bit of happiness?”

Tim then told him: “The only way you’ll be marrying my mother is over my dead body.”

Stephen then, giving his best camp murderer vibes, replied: “I hope it doesn’t come to that.”

And viewers are now convinced Stephen will murder Tim next.
