Coronation Street fans spot major clue Todd Grimshaw ‘is returning’ to cobbles
Coronation Street fans are convinced that Todd Grimshaw is set to make an explosive return to Weatherfield.
The lawyer was quickly written out of the ITV soap in 2017 after actor Bruno Langley was suspended following reports he had sexually assaulted a woman in a bar.
Bruno, 37, was sacked following an investigation by soap bosses and later plead guilty of two counts of sexual assaults in court.
The actor was required to complete a year-long community order and 40 days of rehabilitation activity and was forced to sign the sex offender register for five years.
It is unclear whether Bruno would ever be invited by to reprise his role as Todd, although Corrie could recast the character who first appeared in 2001.
In last night's visit to the cobbles, Todd's mum Eileen Grimshaw chatted to al Fin Brown about how she was feeling low because of her son.
Todd went on the run in 2017 to escape justice from assaulting a police office after her and boyfriend Billy Mathew were in the middle of a war with their adopted daughter Summer's biological grandmother.
Eileen told Fiz: "Every Mother’s Day or birthday it’s the same. I think this will be the time I hear from him but I never do of course."
Corrie fans took the seemingly random name trio as a clue that hTodd could be making a return to the cobbles soon.
Taking to Twitter, one fan penned: "Todd mention caxton. This one seems a bit out the blue."
Another added: "Todd must be coming back. He just had the obligatory mention to get us all prepared."
A third guessed: ""Interesting to hear a Todd mention."
A fourth predicted: "Is Todd coming back?"
ITV announced last week that production on the long-running soap has been suspended from this week due to the coronavirus crisis.
The soap will air three times a week instead of the usual five episodes a week for the foreseeable future from Monday, March 30.
Fans will have to wait and see if Todd turns up in Weatherfield.
