The Vivienne became a RuPaul’s Drag Race icon when she impersonated Donald Trump in the snatch game, but now she’s stealing the nation’s hearts with her latest gig.
The drag queen – who was crowned the winner of Ru Paul’s Drag Race UK back in 2019 – will be visiting the Dales to make a one off guest appearance at Emmerdale’s Pride event.
It’s all thanks to Andrea – played by Anna Nightingale – who excitedly tells Charles about the extra special guest she’s booked to open the event. Ahead of her scenes in the much-loved soap, The Vivienne has opened up about what an “honour” it is to “make history” as part of Emmerdale’s first Pride celebration.

“The first Pride, I mean what an honour to be part of that,” she said.
The drag star continued: “It’s not only an honour to be here, it's amazing to be making history by being in Emmerdale’s first Pride event making sure the LGBTQ+ community have a voice in soaps.
“There are already LGBTQ+ characters in soaps but bringing Pride into the people’s living rooms that may not normally attend one is brilliant. Well done Emmerdale and ITV.”
The Vivienne also revealed the lucky garment that landed her the role in the first place.
“I’ve got one of my leopard print dresses to thank for getting the chance to appear in Emmerdale!” she explained. “I woke up one morning and Lisa Riley – who plays Mandy Dingle – was all over Lorraine as it was Mandy’s wedding and her dress was inspired by one of mine. A couple of weeks later I got a call from the show…”
Turns out the love is mutual as The Vivienne named Mandy Dingle as her favourite character. “She is just an absolute style icon. I want to be Mandy Dingle when I'm older,” she claimed.
The Vivienne went on to confess that she is an “all round soap fan,” so getting the chance to appear on the show must be a bit of a dream come true.
“I don’t get the time to watch the soaps as much as I used to,” she admitted, “but I’m definitely a fan and I’ve got some very jealous friends due to the fact I am here today.”
She continued: “The day’s filming has been amazing. We have just shot the scene on the stage. Everyone is in really good spirits, the weather is fantastic and it’s going to be such an amazing episode. It's all really relaxed and dead good fun, what more could I want, it’s Emmerdale!”
The Emmerdale villagers will be celebrating Pride next month. You can watch all episodes of the soap on ITV and ITV Hub.
