However in a dramatic twist, his daughter Nancy suffered a seizure during a break and Mick was unable to read out his victim impact statement.
Instead the barrister read out the emotional words, and the judge took it into account.
On sentencing Katy for her abuse of Mick and another underage boy, he sent her to prison for a decade.
After hearing the statement, the judge made his ruling, telling the court: “I have heard all the evidence. In passing sentence I take into account your guilty plea.
“I recognise the positive relationship you have with your daughter and I am mindful that she has willingly spoken of your good character. Nevertheless this is a serious case.
“You abused your position of trust for your own gratification. Lives have been adversely and irreparably affected by your actions.
“In respect of the first count I sentence you to four years imprisonment. In respect to the second count a term of six years.
“These terms to run consecutively making a total of ten years. You will be placed on the sexual offenders register for an indefinite period. Take her down."
As she was being taken out of court, she turned to Mick to say: "I'm sorry." But it didn't matter to him.
Having missed reading out his own statement to save Nancy from her seizure, Mick said: "Don't worry, it's OK. Our family is OK and that's all that matters."
The family then walked out of court together leaving viewers in tears.
One wrote: "A very moving and powerful episode tonight!"
A second said: "I can’t stop crying #EastEnders."
Another added: "Well done Mick! Finally some justice #EastEnders."
