Emmerdale’s Max Parker has quit the soap after two years as Luke Posner, according to new reports.
It comes as Parker's bisexual character is currently tangled up in an awkward love triangle with Victoria Sugden and village newcomer Ethan Anderson.
Ethan is currently unaware he’s speaking to Luke, talking via a dating app, but the pair previously have a history after a night together before Victoria was on the scene.
With that storyline currently being played out, Max still has plenty to do on the soap – but it's now emerged he thinks it will soon be time to move on.
A source told The Sun: “Max was never going to stay on the soap for years.
“He’s ambitious and a talented guy – he’s already auditioning for new roles and excited for the future.”
They added that the door may be left open for him to return in the future.
OK! Has reached out to ITV for comment.
Luke entered Emmerdale back in 2019 off the back of a hard-hitting storyline involving Victoria, after his brother Lee raped her on a night out.
Luke came to the village looking for answers after Lee was killed by Victoria’s brother, Robert.
However, it’s since come to light that Luke may have more involvement with Lee’s death than initially thought.
In a heart-to-heart with his mum, Wendy, Luke revealed that he was in an intense relationship with a man named Stephen a few years ago.
But before he could introduce Stephen to the family, his love was attacked violently by Lee, leading to an altercation between the brothers.
As a result Luke knocked Lee unconscious… the same day Robert delivered a fatal blow to the rapist and killed him.
This could mean Robert isn’t as guilty as assumed.
Max has become a fan favourite since joining the series and even found love among the cast –dating Kris Mochrie, who plays his on-screen brother.
The couple have been together for the past two years, moving into a swanky pad in Manchester earlier this year.
They reportedly pay £8000 a month to live in the luxury apartment – which is deliberately based in a perfect location between Emmerdale’s set, Kris’s home of Liverpool, and London.
Their home is part of a skyscraper residence building in Manchester that comes with a roof garden, concierge, private pool, gym and yoga studio.
Emmerdale airs weekdays on ITV.
