ITV soap fans will know that Wendy Posner’s (played by Susan Cookson) ex-husband Russ (Rob Jarvis) recently arrived in Emmerdale. Angry about his mother’s will, in which she’s left everything to Victoria Sugden’s (Isabel Hodgins) baby Harry, Russ has been demanding money from Wendy. However, in upcoming scenes on the soap, Russ will take things one step further as he pulls a gun on Wendy and Victoria. Could Wendy end up getting herself killed in an attempt to save Victoria’s life?

In upcoming scenes on Emmerdale, Russ will reveal to Wendy the real reason he’s on the run.

He confesses it’s because he shot a policeman during the armed robbery of a jewellery store.

A stunned Wendy quickly realises her ex is much more dangerous than she had ever imagined.

When Russ orders Wendy to convince Victoria to hand the money over she does, but instantly feels disgusted with herself.

The next day, Victoria tells Russ he’ll have the money by midday, and he pretends to be overwhelmed with gratitude.

However, compelled by her guilty conscience, Wendy arrives at the Hide and urges Victoria not to give Russ any money.

She tells Victoria how Russ is blackmailing her with a secret that could ruin her life, but before Wendy can tell Victoria what the secret is, Russ shows up demanding answers as to why the money hasn’t come through.

As Victoria makes to call the police, Russ reaches into his coat and pulls out a sawed-off shotgun.

After taking Vic and Wendy’s phones, Russ secures the door to the Hide holding them hostage.

Russ cocks the gun and points it at Victoria demanding she transfers the money to him.

When armed police arrive on the scene, the stand-off at the Hide escalates into a full-blown siege.

Outside the Hide, concerned bystanders hear a shot ring out. Will the women make it out alive?

In a recent interview with Express.co.uk and other press, Wendy actress Susan Cookson explained how her character will feel in the intense upcoming scenes.

The soap star hinted that Wendy will want to do everything she can to protect Victoria from Russ.

She revealed: “I think Wendy sees Victoria as the daughter that she never had.

“I think she’s very protective over and she’s had to tread very, very carefully because of what’s gone on.

“But I think, I think she’s extremely protective of her and of Harry and I don’t think there’s much that she wouldn’t do to continue that protection.”

Could the closeness of Victoria and Wendy play a big factor while they are being held hostage?

As Susan revealed Wendy is “extremely protective” over Victoria, could this mean she’d be willing to sacrifice her own life in a bid to save Victoria from Russ?

Isabel Hodgins, who plays Victoria on the soap, also shared her thoughts on the relationship between Victoria and Wendy.

The actress explained: “In regards to Wendy and Victoria’s relationship, I think it feels special because they’ve had to work really hard at it, to establish that level of trust and to go, ‘Yes you can not only be in my life but my son’s life.’”

Could Wendy end up being killed by Russ as she tries to protect Victoria? Viewers will have to tune in to find out her fate.

Emmerdale airs weekdays at 7pm on ITV.
