GMB's Ranvir Singh says she's put on a stone in lockdown and will need strong underwear to 'suck it all in' on Strictly
GOOD Morning Britain's Ranvir Singh has revealed that she put on a stone in lockdown – and will need strong underwear to "suck it all in" on Strictly Come Dancing.
The 43-year-old star is set to follow in the footsteps of her GMB co-stars by trying her talent in the famous BBC ballroom later this month.
And the presenter told us that she isn't worried about what sequin-embellished costumes she has to wear on the show, as long as she is given decent shapewear underneath.
She told The Sun Online: "It’s no secret; I’ve put on a stone during lockdown. I don’t mind what they do on the outside but they need the best underwear to suck it all in.
"My agent sent me a weighted skipping rope for my birthday – it was not a subtle hint. I haven’t actually used it yet. I have started doing running and a few hit training sessions."
Referencing Strictly competitor Nicola Adams, Ranvir added: "I haven’t gone hell for leather because I am up against an Olympic gold medal boxer, what point is there you cannot compete on that level.
"What I am going for is enthusiasm and joy and I am definitely hard worker and I do think I can pick up things quite quickly, I think I can pick up information quite quickly and translate it really quickly, so I’m hoping that part of my brain will help with picking up the moves."
Ranvir is the latest in a long line of GMB presenters to be taking part in the dance series, with Richard Arnold, Charlotte Hawkins, Kate Garraway, and Susanna Reid all signing up over the years.
And she has been getting some tips and advice from her famous pals, with the star explaining: "Susanna keeps saying: 'You have no idea what is about to happen' – it’s just a whirlwind and the whole consuming nature of it.
"Everybody says it will be the best thing you’ve ever done in your life so just enjoy it."
Strictly Come Dancing returns to our screens later this month, with a special look back at the show's previous winners leaving fans in tears on Saturday [10 October].
Viewers were heartbroken as the series' stars paid loving tribute to Caroline Flack, who won the show in 2014.
Caroline tragically took her own life earlier this year, and fans admitted that they were "in bits" as they emotionally looked back at some of her most show-stopping Strictly moments.
