Hollington Drive aired its first episode on Wednesday, September 29 on ITV. After a 10-year-old boy goes missing, a community is tearing its hair out to find out what happened to him. But siblings Theresa (played by Anna Maxwell Martin) and Helen (Rachael Stirling) are worried for a more sinister reason closer to home.

WARNING: This article contains spoilers from Hollington Drive.

Theresa’s son Ben asks if he can go to the park with his cousin Eva which she agrees to.

She becomes suspicious though when she sees the pair arguing at the edge of the woods.

Shortly after, Theresa discovers that 10-year-old Alex from Ben’s school has gone missing.

Is Theresa overreacting or did Ben and Eva really have something to do with his disappearance?

What else has Jim Howick been in?

At hands to investigate and find out the truth about what happened to Alex is DS Parks.

He quickly starts asking questions around the community which gets everyone rattled.

DS Parks is played by actor Jim Howick who is a familiar face to British television.

However, this is particularly true if you’re a fan of various comedy series.

Howick is best known for being part of the Horrible Histories troupe, having played numerous roles as part of the series for 12 years.

Alongside the five other members of the Horrible Histories cast, he also co-created Yonderland, the fantasy-comedy series that was shown on Sky One back in 2013.

Two of his most recent other roles have been as Pat Butcher in BBC’s comedy series Ghosts and Paul Jessop in sitcom Pandemonium.

Netflix subscribers will know him for a comedy-drama that has just been renewed for a fourth outing.

Howick is the enthusiastic music teacher Mr Colin Hendricks in the streaming service’s hit show Sex Education.

Season three came out earlier this month with Colin playing a crucial role in helping Mr Groff (Alistair Petrie) get back on his feet by allowing him to move in.

During a day trip to France, Colin proposed to girlfriend Emily Sands (Rakhee Thakrar) which she quickly turned down in favour of moving in together instead.

He is expected to return along with the rest of the cast for season four.

Hollington Drive may not exactly be what Howick is used to but this isn’t the first time he has appeared in a drama.

Back in 2017, he played convicted rapist Aaron Mayford in two episodes of Broadchurch season three.

But will DS Parks be able to crack the case and track down Alex before it’s too late?

Hollington Drive airs every Wednesday at 9pm on ITV.
