Idris Elba trademarks his own name to launch beauty and fake tan range with wife Sabrina – The Sun

IDRIS Elba is set to show his softer side – by launching a beauty range.

The award winning actor has applied for permission to sell dozens of health and beauty products under his lifestyle brand Sable Labs and podcast Coupledom – both of which he runs with wife Sabrina.

The applications were made at the Intellectual Property Office in January, under the name of his top UK firm IE7 Holdings Limited – through which he also runs a music business, clothing company and performing arts firm.

Elba and Sabrina launched their wellness brand in February.

Promising to make it a ‘global community that celebrates partnerships of all kinds – romantic couples, business partners, creative duos, long standing friends, family ties and much more.'

Their trademarks are set to run across two classes and dozens of products.

Under one their application includes: soaps, aftershaves, cosmetics, make-up removers, mascara, lipstick, lip pencils and liners, eye brow fixer, body powders, anti-wrinkle creams, bubble bath, bath gel, facial creams, skin-rejuvenation creams, skin soothing masks, sun care and sun-tanning preparations, as well as hair removal and having preparations.

In addition, the other class lists: medicated preparations, serums, dermatological and pharmaceutical preparations for skin care, medicated acne preparations, nutritional supplements, body hydration; plus prevention and treatment of hair-loss, and treatment for the skin and the metabolism against the effects of fatigue or stress.’

As well as trademarking the products Elba has applied in his own name to trademark the use of S’able Labs and Coupledom across multiple digital goods and services.

All applications are pending and yet to be approved. The digital ones were made in March.

As well as their online business they co-run retail company Hyphenate Life – set up March 2019.

A spokeswoman for Idris has been approached for comment.
