How many episodes are in Love, Victor season 2?
Love, Victor season 2 finally drops tomorrow, June 11, on Hulu in the States and June 18 in the UK on Star on Disney Plus.
Season two will have 10 new episodes for fans to enjoy, which will all be dropped the day it premieres.
The series is a spin-off from the original Love, Simon film which released back in 2018.
The Simon Spier actor, Nick Robinson, will also be returning for season two after having appeared in the first season of the series.
The series leads also joining Victor are Lake Meriwether (Bebe Wood), Andrew (Mason Gooding), Benji Campbell (George Sear) and Isabel Salazar (Ana Ortiz).
Love, Victor is the story of a high school student navigating his own journey of self-discovery.
Isaac Aptaker recently spoke with Entertainment Weekly about the new season and how he wanted the show to differentiate itself from other LGBTQ+ narratives.
Aptaker explained the show “isn’t just a coming-out story” and explores a lot more than just the usual romantic elements.
The showrunner said: “A lot of people and critics say, ‘Why are LGBTQ stories always coming-out stories? Why is that always the narrative that’s told?’
“And for our show, that isn’t really the narrative that we want to tell; that’s just the first chapter of it.”
Star Michael Cimino also talked to Variety about the themes of the series and how it was important for the show to still include scenes where Victor isn’t being honest with himself or his family.
He explained: “It’s easy to tell when Victor is covering. You see how far he’s reaching to try to make sure everything is OK from the very beginning.
“And you get how he can be inclined to be someone he’s not fully.”
Season one ended with Victor finally coming out to his parents, leaving the show with an intense cliffhanger.
Season two will be picking up directly where this scene left off, with episode one of season two being titled Perfect Summer Bubble.
The synopsis of the episode reads: “As summer break comes to an end, Victor grapples with his family’s reaction to his coming out.”
It has not been confirmed if Love, Victor will receive a third season, with news on any upcoming follow-up likely to be announced after the season premiere.
Fans have been sharing their excitement on Twitter, with many of them eagerly awaiting the release of season two.
One fan said: “Is it just me or things are actually going to get pretty Hot in the next season. #JustSayin”
Another fan added: “OMG REALLY I CAN´T WAIT THIS IS REAL!”
A third said: “I’m so excited!! This show and its characters and the cast bring so much light and comfort into my life, I’m so glad we’re getting a whole new season”
