If meeting your husband for the first time when you exchange your vows wasn’t enough to process for Lauren, she will soon learn that Matthew doesn’t have a lot of experience when it comes to relationships.

Matthew is heard explaining: “I am nervous. I am anxious, I am worried that I won’t be enough for her.

“I think for me, the thing that terrifies me the most, is getting my heartbroken.”

The show’s relationship expert John Aiken explains how Matthew’s personality isn’t suited to such an event.

“For introvert Matthew, today will be an overwhelming event,” John says. “It will be a complete mental and emotional experience.”

“An experience like this takes all my worst fears…[I’m in the] deep end,” Matthew continues.

There’s an overwhelming fear of rejection [because of] my lack of relationship experience.

“[It will be my first kiss in seven years, [and I will have to tell] my new wife I’m still a virgin.

“[I’m also worried about] getting my heart broken… I think if it didn’t work out, it would destroy me,” he added.

The clip shows Lauren en route to the wedding venue, but fans will have to tune in to find out how their first meeting unfolds.

Should they not want to stay married to one another, breaking from their marriage is relatively simple.

The couples matched on the show do not take part in a legal marriage, but they are instead asked to attend an unofficial commitment ceremony.

After spending time together and meeting each other’s families, the couples are then asked whether they would like to continue their relationship.

Should they not want to, they can walk away from one another and never see each other again.

Married at First Sight Australia airs weekday evenings at 7:30pm on E4.
