Masked Dancer viewers 'convinced' Scarecrow is EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite after spotting soap clues

VIEWERS of The Masked Dancer are "convinced" that Scarecrow is former EastEnders star Tamzin Outhwaite.

Eagle-eyed viewers spotted a number of TV clues on Friday night's semi-final show, including the actress' other roles in Red Cap and New Tricks.

Tamzin, 50, portrayed iconic EastEnders character Mel Owen on and off from 1998 to 2019, when her character was killed off.

Alongside the BBC soap, she also worked on comedy series New Tricks, ITV drama The Fixer, The Bill and Men Behaving Badly.

Fans said it was "obvious" Scarecrow was Tamzin as the character also made reference to Inside No 9 and Hotel Babylon.

Taking to Twitter, the most eagle-eyed viewers also revealed there was a possible link to Ian Beale, who EastEnders' Mel was once married to.

One wrote: "Magic wand = New Tricks, General Manager badge= Hotel Babylon, Barn No 9 = appearing in an episode of Inside Number 9."

Another chimed in: "Red Cap, Inside No.9, General Manager (Hotel Babylon), Sun Hill (The Bill), magic wand (New Tricks), always got a free ride' (her dad drove cab)."

"AMAZING dancing & phenomenal disguise job," the clued-up fan added.

A third recalled: "And she was married to Ian Beale!"

Others were less keen to share their reasons, but instead admitted they were "convinced" Tamzin was the mystery dancer.

One wrote: "I'm convinced Scarecrow is Tamzin Outhwaite," while another said: "I'm going with Tamzin Outhwaite for Scarecrow."

She's not the only EastEnders star in the running to possibly be unmasked, as fans are convinced that another ex-actress is in the running.

Viewers admitted they think Squirrel is Bonnie Langford, who played Carmel Kazemi in EastEnders, and previously worked as a professional dancer.

Last night, Knickerbocker Glory was unmasked as Craig Revel Horwood, and Frog as Kelly Brook.

Tonight's grand finale will see the remaining contestants – Scarecrow, Carwash, Zip, and Squirrel perform again before their real identities are finally revealed.

The Masked Dancer UK final airs Saturday at 7:30pm on ITV.
