Strictly's HRVY reveals he's looking for love on the show and would date his dance partner

STRICTLY'S HRVY has revealed he's hoping to find love on this year's show – and wouldn't mind dating his pro partner.

The 21-year-old YouTuber, real name Harvey Leigh Cantwell, is ready to pick up more than some new dancing skills when he takes to the ballroom.

Speaking on today's Kiss Breakfast, he said: "I’m currently single so I mean… I might be looking for some love on Strictly!

"If it comes my way, if I find some chemistry with someone and they’re like I’m down, 100 per cent.

"It happened to Joe (Sugg). I feel like dancing is so intimate, it can spark up something.”

Strictly bosses have been trying to sign HRVY up for a long time, but now he's finally ready to follow in the footsteps of fellow vloggers Saffron Barker and Joe Sugg.

“I’m so excited, I’m well nervous I won’t lie," he said. "I don’t think it’s the dancing, it’s the tight shirts and the tights trousers and that…

"I’m excited to be on the telly. I’m excited for my mum and nan to watch, they’re buzzing. They’re just as excited as I am.”

The internet sensation isn't just there to make up the numbers either.

He's not shy about admitting that his aim is to win the Glitterball trophy – amd he believes he's got the moves to do it.

“I love myself a challenge. I really want to win. I’m in it to win it. Let me tell you, if I go out the first week I’m going to have to change my name and move to a different country.

"My mates will absolutely wreck me if I go out the first week. That’s my only mission is to not go out the first week and then I’m happy. But I still want to win.

“One hundred per cent I’ve got it in me. I’m going to work so hard. My hips can move man, my hips don’t lie.”

HRVY joins stand-up comedian Bill Bailey, EastEnders’ Maisie Smith and popstar Max George in this year’s line-up.

The Kent-born star has had almost 500million views online and previously appeared on BBC’s Friday Download on CBBC.

An aspiring singer, he collaborated with Jonas Blue on hit single ‘Younger’ in 2019 and supported popband Little Mix on their 2014 Salute tour.

A source said: “HRVY brings a massive youth audience, which the BBC craves.

“Historically these slightly lesser known stars have done well on the show – just look at Joe Sugg and Saffron Barker.

“If he can dance, he’ll go far in the competition for sure.”
