Sunday Brunch thrown into chaos after gas stops working live on-air ‘All over the place’

Sunday Brunch: Tim Lovejoy and guests discuss cold showers

Simon Rimmer and Tim Lovejoy were back for another edition of Sunday Brunch as they welcomed a range of guests into the studio hoping to try out some of the delicious offerings on the Channel 4 show. However, early on into today’s programme, Simon had to request those watching at home to “suspend reality” when he had to try out cooking a pear and Roquefort tart with a key ingredient missing – the gas supply.

Today, the presenting duo of Simon and Tim were joined by an all-star line-up including TV star Maya Jama, singer Jamie Cullum and comedian Romesh Ranganathan.

But things didn’t go entirely to plan after Simon was due to get ready for his first cooking segment of the marathon show.

He told those watching at home: “What you need to do now is suspend reality… the gas isn’t working at the moment.”

Instead of giving up, Simon remained a trooper and got to work on the dish complete with sound-effects.
