This Morning’s Alison Hammond praised by fans after diabetes announcement

This Morning favourite Alison Hammond has announced that she's been diagnosed as a pre-diabetic.

The bubbly presenter, 45, shared the personal news update on Tuesday's edition of ITV daytime show.

Alison appeared on the latest edition of the programme to dish the latest I'm A Celebrity gossip but ended the segment by giving fans her health update.

The ITV star explained: "I have had some news, guys, I am willing to share if you've got the time.

"I have found out that I am pre-diabetic, so I really need your help, and I have got to change my ways.

"If you see me out there buying any chocolate or sweets, please, please I am begging you, I am not allowed to have it.

"I've got to change my ways, this is serious now, pre-diabetes.

Holly Willoughby and Phillip Schofield praised Alison for being open and sharing the news with viewers.

"That's a really brave thing to say, I didn't think you were going to do that, well done you," said Phil, 58.

Alison added: "There's a lot of people who are pre-diabetic and I think it's important."

"I've got a chance to turn it around, it is type 2, so I really want you help, and I need you."

Holly replied: "You've got a chance to turn it around, we are right here beside you."

Phil later joked that he would use the two-metre social distancing stick to hit his colleague if he saw her snacking on sweet treats.
