Bonking Brits triggered almost 100 complaints about their noisy sex from fed up neighbours last year

BONKING Brits triggered almost 100 complaints about their noisy sex from fed up neighbours last year, figures show.

Of the 100 biggest councils in England, one in four logged at least one protest from people kept awake by loud passion.

Nottingham, Rotherham in South Yorks, and Islington in North London each received eight complaints, a Freedom of Information request revealed.

Dudley in the West Midlands, and Tameside in Gtr Manchester came next with seven apiece, followed by Luton in Bedfordshire and Wakefield, West Yorks, with six.

Overall, councils were asked 86 times to silence the din from love-makers.

Islington resident Dionne Duncan, 45, says she was kept awake by guests having “thunderous sex” in a neighbouring flat rented out on Airbnb.

The IT programme manager says she was forced to sleep in her car.

Rampant Alicia Loveday, 26, and Adam Howard, 24, of Wigan, Gtr Manchester, admit they have repeatedly fallen foul of neighbours because of their raucous romps.

Care worker Alicia said: “We are very passionate and that is why we’ve had problems with people finding our love-making noisy. It was finally driven home when we stayed with friends and they banged on the wall and told us to shut up.”

The Environmental Protection Act gives councils the power to order residents to quieten recurrent noise deemed a statutory nuisance. Failure to pipe down can lead to a £110 fine and, possibly, jail.
