  • Lisa Berry, one of the cars’ owners, say it is the third time in a year she’s been hit

A nightmare driver has been caught on camera smashing into two cars whilst trying to parallel park outside a KFC.

Video shows the motorist’s disastrous attempts to steer their Skoda as it bashes into vehicles outside the fast food restaurant on Margate’s High Street in Kent.

In the footage, the car is seen mounting the pavement as the driver tries to ease in to the large gap, before pausing and then appearing to accelerate into a small red hatchback parked in front, shunting it forwards.

The driver then swings back out of the space, but ends up slamming into a black Vauxhall Astra behind.

Undeterred, the driver then has another go at lining up with the kerb.

People walking by turned to look as the car juddered and jolted and appeared to mount the pavement again.

The car pauses again for a moment – having awkwardly got into the parking bay at a strange angle.

But the driver then mounts the kerb again before reversing, pulling out of the space and driving away.

Lisa Berry, who owns the stricken Vauxhall Astra smashed into by the Skoda, said it was the third time her car had been hit while parked near her home in less than a year

Footage of the bizarre incident was captured by Lisa Berry, who owns the stricken Vauxhall Astra.

She lives nearby and said it was the third time her car had been hit while parked near her home in less than a year.

Only a few weeks ago Miss Berry had her car repainted and fitted with a new bumper after it was hit whilst parked in the same place on the high street.

‘When I saw it had happened again I couldn’t believe it, it’s so frustrating, what was the driver trying to do? You really couldn’t make this up,’ said Lisa

‘It cost well over £1,000 last time. Then my car before this one got written off in the same place when someone did exactly the same thing,’ she said.

Miss Berry said she does not know how much the damage will cost to repair this time, but has thanked a passer-by who witnessed Friday’s incident and managed to capture the number plate of the silver car before it sped away.

The incident has been reported to the Kent Police.
