North Korea threatens ‘disgusting’ US to keep out of its spat with South Korea
North Korea on Thursday warned the US to “hold its tongue” over the Hermit Kingdom’s escalating spat with South Korea — threatening a “hair-raiser” before the presidential election if it interferes, according to a report.
Kwon Jong Gun, North Korea’s director general of the Department of US Affairs, slammed the “double-dealing attitudes” of the US as “disgusting,” according to Agence France-Presse, citing the state news agency, KCNA.
Washington should “hold its tongue and mind its internal affairs first” before criticizing the kingdom for cutting all communication with Seoul, the senior official insisted.
Gun warned Washington to keep out of inter-Korean politics if it wanted to avoid a “hair-raiser” and ensure the “easy holding” of November’s election, the report said.
The implicit threat came just a day before the two-year anniversary of the landmark summit in Singapore where Kim Jong Un shook hands with President Trump, becoming the first North Korean leader to meet a sitting US president, AFP noted.
